Manilla Road started in the 70s as some sort of garage rock band, from what I understand, but even from the earliest material we have - the debut and After Midnight Live - I'm not sure which songs were actually written first - it's clear that they weren't interest in the mainstream or commercial success - they were interested in writing compelling, unique, epic music that stood out from other Manilla Road have been a force to be reckoned with for over three decades; one of the great titans of heavy metal, they're older than most of the currently active bands, having formed way back in 1977.
